Affordable Mediation Program (AMP)

NCMC is committed to offering high-quality, comprehensive mediation services at affordable rates. As part of our mission to increase access to mediation services, we offer an Affordable Mediation Program (AMP) that services two categories of disputes:
Family Matters
Small Claims Matters

FAMILY, DIVORCE AND/OR RELATIONSHIP MEDIATION

Under AMP, NCMC offers reduced fee mediation and related services for low to mid-income couples or families, for matters relating to Family Law, Divorce, Separation or Relationship (Mediation To Stay Together).

Reduced fee rates are assessed on a sliding-scale basis, incorporating factors such as total family income and assets. Rates range from $100-$280/hour. Actual rate depends on your family’s demonstrated income & assets, as well as whether your matter involves a divorce, legal separation, or any other situation requiring our mediator’s legal expertise.

Divorce mediation services are comprehensive, conducted by Attorney/Mediators, and include, as an option, the filing of all necessary legal paperwork.

SMALL CLAIMS MEDIATION

Under AMP, NCMC offers reduced fee mediation services for claims that (i) do not fall under the categories of Family, Divorce, or Relationship matters AND (ii) meet all of our AMP Small Claims criteria, below.

To qualify, the amount of value in dispute from the perspective of the would-be plaintiff must be no greater than $7500 for individuals and $10,000 for businesses. The plaintiff need not have filed a formal claim with the court.

Small Claims rates start at a $300 Minimum Mediation fee that includes pre-mediation set up, preparation and the first two hours of mediation. Additional time worked on the case is billed at $100 per hour.
